What is 麻吉將 (MahjongSensei)?
MahjongSensei is the first interactive Taiwanese mahjong learning platform designed for absolute beginners. Whether you have never touched a mahjong tile or have played casually with friends without understanding the deeper strategy, MahjongSensei takes you from zero to confident player — entirely in your browser, no download required, and works perfectly on your phone.
We built MahjongSensei because we believe learning mahjong should not be intimidating. Traditional methods require you to find four players, sit at a physical table, and learn through trial and error — often at the cost of frustrating your more experienced friends. Our platform replaces that awkward learning curve with 68 carefully designed interactive levels, from basic tile recognition all the way to advanced defensive play strategies.
The name "麻吉將" (Má-jí-jiàng) is a playful fusion: "麻吉" (má-jí) is Taiwanese slang for "close buddy," borrowed from the English word "match," while "麻將" (má-jiàng) is the Chinese word for mahjong. So MahjongSensei is literally your "mahjong buddy" — a companion who guides you, cheers you on, and never gets annoyed when you make a mistake.

Who Made This?
MahjongSensei is created and maintained by botlin1979, a Taiwanese software developer and mahjong enthusiast based in Germany. The project began in May 2026 as a passion project to make mahjong education accessible to everyone, combining years of software engineering experience with genuine love for the game.
All mahjong tile artwork is based on the open-source perthmahjongsoc/mahjong-tiles-svg project (CC BY-SA 4.0 license), resized and formatted for optimal web display.

我們打造麻吉將，是因為我們相信學麻將不需要那麼辛苦。傳統的學習方式需要湊滿四個人、坐在牌桌前邊打邊學—— 但這過程往往讓新手壓力山大，也可能讓老手朋友失去耐心。我們的平台用 68 個精心設計的互動關卡取代了那段尷尬的學習曲線， 從最基本的牌面辨識，一路帶你到進階的防守策略。
為什麼叫「麻吉將」？「麻吉」是台語中的「好朋友」，借自英文的「match」；「麻將」則是這款經典遊戲的名稱。 組合在一起，「麻吉將」就是你的「麻將麻吉」——一個會引導你、為你加油、而且永遠不會因為你打錯牌而生氣的夥伴。

麻吉將由 botlin1979 獨立開發與維護，他是一位旅居德國的台灣軟體工程師，同時也是個麻將狂熱愛好者。 這個專案始於 2026 年 5 月，是一個結合軟體開發專業與對麻將熱愛的熱血作品，目標是讓每個人都能輕鬆學會麻將。
